ENCRYPT 4.0

Acronym: ENCRYPT 4.0

Project Title: Joint Cyber Workforce Development Initiative to Enable The European Industry to Overcome the Shortage of Cybersecurity Professionals

Project Code: 2020-1-RO01-KA202-079983

Funding: 284.992,00 EUR

GOALS

The Encrypt 4.0 project main aim is to strengthen the capacity of manufacturing SMEs to ensure the security of their data in the Industry 4.0 context and to contribute to tackling the cybersecurity workforce shortage by creating a comprehensive training package.

The specific objectives of the project are:

enabling manufacturing SMEs management to adopt a proactive approach towards cybersecurity by supporting them in the process of analysing, identifying and tackling the cyber risks and threats applicable to their organisation;

Promoting interactive project-based learning with regards to boosting cyber-security skills and competences of SMEs’ employees or/and cybersecurity professionals;

Strengthening peer-to-peer dialogue in the field of cybersecurity and give free access to critical analyses of lessons learned and cyber defence roadmaps.

Project target groups are executives and head of departments in manufacturing SMEs, employees and/or cybersecurity professionals from manufacturing SMEs transitioning to Industry 4.0, vocational students with technical profiles and VET trainers/consultants in the field of cybersecurity.

EXPECTED RESULTS

  • Encrypt 4.0 Cyber Risk Audit Matrix

The Cyber Risk Audit Matrix (CRAM) which will enable smart factories to perform a systematic overview of their risk landscape and create an accurate cyber threat risk profile. The CRAM will be an analytic tool that will support the manufacturing companies to take detective and preventive controls and establish protective measures in a timely manner. The CRAM will follow the CIA triad which is a proven model for security policy development and has three main concepts: Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability. The matrix will use risk factors as an input in determining the levels of cyber risks which will  be measured in two main aspects – likelihood and impact, tailored to respond to the specific needs of the manufacturing SMEs with the potential to be easily shaped and adapted in the individual organizational culture of a given company.

  • Encrypt 4.0 Cyber security training lab

 The Encrypt 4.0 training lab will be a flexible online training tool where SMEs employees and other interested parties will be able to work collaboratively on different projects and case studies and thus boost their cyber-security skills. The main aim of the training lab will be to equip employees with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and competences to operate Industry 4.0-based solutions in a way that ensures cyber security along the whole process chain. The training lab will follow a project-based training approach meaning that it will be focused on real case studies, challenges and simulations scenarios of cyber-attacks that are likely to appear in the smart manufacturing environments

  • Encrypt 4.0 Documental battery on cyberattacks

A peer-to-peer tool in the form of an online storage of information with part of the content being generated by the users themselves. The tool will be an innovative Documental battery(DB) on cyber-attacks, specifically tailored for the needs of EU manufacturing SMEs operating in the Industry 4.0 context and will give access to critical analysis of real cyber-attacks and lessons learnt as well as roadmaps on how to prevent, identify, tackle and recover from them. The tool will allow users to comment and share their experience on cyber-attacks meaning the content will stay up-to-date with the fast evolving nature of cyber treats.
