Cathodic protection

ISQ offers inspection, auditing services and monitoring of cathodic protection systems for the mitigation of corrosion on underground or submerged structures. ISQ adopted an effective and accurate approach to performance and control of these systems. Economically feasible, it reduces repairs costs and allows for early diagnosis. We use remote monitoring and control technology which does not require regular on-site visits to assess the existence of interference and further enables early detection of faults and malfunctions, thus saving time and resources. ISQ offers cathodic protection modeling to make a local diagnosis of the level of protection as well as assessment of eventual changes to the system such as introduction of localized damages to coating, interference with other structures, estimating the condition of perishable components of the system - coating and/or anodes, enabling an effective and appropriate corrective action. Inspection and reception of materials and equipment

The inspection and approval of materials and equipment in shop and on-site minimizes the possibility of materials and/or equipment not complying with technical specifications (building codes, standards, specifications of project and applicable legislation). Decreases the risks that can lead to a reduction in the expected lifecycle and costs, as well as the possibility of accidents with adverse consequences for the personnel and environment and thus reducing social impact or material losses (delays, losses of production, repairing and increase of insurance premiums). Provision of these services is done in the context of new constructions, repairing and maintenance either for civil, electrical or mechanical sectors. These services aim at to confirm that materials and equipment meet the requirements of the purchase order establishing their condition upon reception (conservation status, damage during transportation, etc.). The concept of projects and works management under construction has been a requirement of the promoters to ensure that the final product complies with the requirements set forth in the project and the requirements of the users, during its useful lifetime. Management of projects requires a balance between scope, time, cost and quality and the promotion of a good relationship with the customer. ISQ Project Management Methodology (PMM) is in line with the PMI (Project Management Institute). This includes the breakdown of the project in phases that constitute its life-cycle, allowing its articulation with ISQ methodologies (described in processes set down in ISO 9001). The project lifecycle is there to define the beginning and end of the project during whose schedule the work is to be done and who should be involved. It describes the set of management areas that ought to be followed to ensure that the project is well managed. Non-destructive control laboratory The Non-destructive testing laboratory, offers a wide range of non-destructive tests to its customers. Also known as techniques of "NDT - Non-Destructive Testing" or NDE - Non Destructive Evaluation, the conventional non-destructive testing techniques use the basic principles of visual inspection; radiography; ultrasound and electromagnetism to perform the detection and dimensioning of discontinuities in materials. In-service inspection in industrial plants

ISQ provides an independent service of shutdown and turnaround inspection in industrial plants, to support the operators in the optimisation of the lifecycle and performance of your premises, in accordance with the strategic and economic objectives, safety and environmental aspects. In the process industry, periodicals shutdowns allows for the performance of actions of extended maintenance and inspection of equipment and facilities. Shutdown inspection in industrial plants, medium-sized or large, requires a preparation step relatively complex and the use of a fair deal of human and material resources for the implementation of the planned actions. As a result of this, are defined inspection and test plans, for each equipment or component, which should take into account the history, the project and operational conditions and the determination of the likely mechanisms of degradation of the equipment. The inspection and test plan will define the types of inspection and tests to be carried out as well as the sampling and the areas to be tested. During shutdowns, inspections may be voluntary or derived from legal obligations (D.L. nº. 211/99 and D.L. nº. 90/2010, in the case of Portugal). In any case, inspections during shutdowns are part of the management of the integrity of the equipment and facilities of a company that is aware of the need to ensure the proper functioning and security of their units.
