ISQ develops its activities in the Site Safety area since 1989, and it is recognized as a reference entity in the sector. It has been involved in almost every major national and some international projects, providing services for a significant number of large companies. The technical body assigned to this area is well experienced and certified, and the activity is supported by a wide range of ISQ skills, measure equipment and  several accredited laboratories. Preparation of health & safety plans Relative to work conditions in temporary or mobile construction sites, according EU Directive 92/57/CEE. Safety inspections in construction sites ISQ have available a team with competencies to perform the site safety coordination on the design and construction phases in accordance with the Directive 92/57/EEC, supporting the owner, assuring the implementation and maintenance of health & safety conditions, applying the health & safety plan, procedures, safety regulations and best practices rules.   Inspection of individual protective equipment for works at heights Periodical inspection of personal protective equipment for works at heights, namely: harnesses, lanyards, anchors, connectors (carabiners, hooks and other links), ascension rope clamps, descenders, fall arrestor devices, pulleys and ropes. Scaffolding inspections ISQ verifies scaffolding compliance with reference documentation (legal requirements, design data, project assembly / disassembly, manufacturer’s specifications) and best practices rules. Life line inspections Visual inspections and tests horizontal and vertical life lines, rigid or flexible and from fasteners and pre-tension components, according to NP EN 795:1999. Test of atmosphere in confines spaces By monitoring and measuring potentially hazardous atmospheres, ISQ verifies the existence of O2 deficiency, hazardous chemical agents (gases or vapours) and / or explosivity in such workplaces, allowing to establish necessary conditions to develop a safe work, preserving workers Health & Safety and the integrity of equipment and goods.

In-service inspection in industrial plants

ISQ provides an independent service of shutdown and turnaround inspection in industrial plants, to support the operators in the optimisation of the lifecycle and performance of your premises, in accordance with the strategic and economic objectives, safety and environmental aspects. In the process industry, periodicals shutdowns allows for the performance of actions of extended maintenance and inspection of equipment and facilities. Shutdown inspection in industrial plants, medium-sized or large, requires a preparation step relatively complex and the use of a fair deal of human and material resources for the implementation of the planned actions. As a result of this, are defined inspection and test plans, for each equipment or component, which should take into account the history, the project and operational conditions and the determination of the likely mechanisms of degradation of the equipment. The inspection and test plan will define the types of inspection and tests to be carried out as well as the sampling and the areas to be tested. During shutdowns, inspections may be voluntary or derived from legal obligations (D.L. nº. 211/99 and D.L. nº. 90/2010, in the case of Portugal). In any case, inspections during shutdowns are part of the management of the integrity of the equipment and facilities of a company that is aware of the need to ensure the proper functioning and security of their units. Calculates the specific heat of the sample. When knowing the thermal diffusivity and specific heat of the sample the thermal conductivity can thus be calculated. Fire safety

ISQ performs assessment of explosion risk in environments with explosive atmospheres, to check compliance of installations with the legal requirements, within the scope of the ATEX Directive and to perform inspection of fire safety systems. ATEX Directive Classification of hazardous areas, in accordance with European and international standards and codes. Inspection of electrical/mechanical equipment installed in classified areas and assessment of their suitability and condition based on IEC 60079-17 and EN 13463-1 standards. Preparation of manuals for protection against explosions, identifying areas deemed dangerous, possible sources of ignition and assessment of explosion risk. Inspection of fire safety systems ISQ is the technical partner of the entity in charge of safety (owner, manager of the building and condominium administration), checking the operational and maintenance capacity of all fire safety systems in the building in accordance with CEPREVEN and NFPA international standards. Vibrations analysis (Modal)

We perform vibration, functional, fatigue, shock and modal analysis testing. The thermodynamics laboratory features a high performance/capacity shaker to cope with the growing demand of vibration testing. The installed shaker is a LDS, model V9 of 105 Kn, 5 Hz up to 3000 Hz, equipped with horizontal table of 1.2 m x 1.2 m and guided vertical expander of 1.0 m x 1.0 m allowing you to perform tests on large dimension mass and parts. The data acquisition system is a 44-channel LSM system channels which allows us to perform functional, fatigue, shock and modal analysis testing. This shaker is also equipped with climatic chamber of 2.0 m x 2.0 m x 2.0 m allowing for tests to be carried out in the range of -50ºC to 150ºC. This entire system is fitted on an acoustic protection and "clean" camera in order to meet the requirements of most demanding industries such as Aerospace.
