New ISQ 2015 Training Catalogue
ISQ has just launched the 2015 Training Catalogue, which places more emphasis on the practical component of training courses for technical positions, with students having access to ISQ's vast network of laboratories. In the area of postgraduate courses, in the school for top-level executives and engineers - E3 - Executive Expertise for Engineers - a postgraduate course in Machine Safety starts in January, followed by postgraduate courses in Welding Engineering and Laboratory Management in April. Registration is also open for the repeat series of postgraduate courses in Energy Efficiency in Buildings, Environmental Management, Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Environment, Safety and Social Responsibility), Food Safety, Senior Occupational Health and Safety Technician and Maintenance Management. In other training programmes for 2015, whether Inter-Company or Intra-Company, the focus on new teaching methods is highlighted, in particular by taking full advantage of the fact that ISQ is one of the leading laboratory bodies in Portugal and therefore curricula will include more visits and practical laboratory sessions - from ECOTERMOLAR, the Training and R&D laboratory in the field of energy, to the advanced Chemistry and Environment laboratories. Videos on tests carried out for projects in which ISQ has participated in with clients will also be incorporated into the training methods. Wherever possible, students may also be able to visit places where ISQ provides technical and inspection consultancy services, such as the 25th April Bridge or energy production infrastructures. In the more practical courses, students will also be given tool boxes to be used in lessons. Finally, it is highlighted that courses now have different behaviour development modules adjusted to the needs of the different student profiles. The ISQ Group began its venture into the area of Training in the 1970s. Since 1994, it has trained 150,000 people in Portugal and conducted around 13,500 courses, reaching a total of one million hours of training. The training areas - with programmes duly tailored to different functional levels, whether in the Intra-Company or Inter-Company format, in the eLearning format at the E3 Postgraduate Course school or in the capacity of Certifying Body - are Environment, Electricity, Energy (Renewable Energy, Gas, etc.), Telecommunications, Automation, Instrumentation and Pneumatics, Welding and Non-Destructive Examination, Maintenance, Management Integration Systems and Security.
